Why people pick ImgResize

Lanczos resampling

Industry-standard filter for crisp downscaling and upscaling. The same algorithm Photoshop uses.

Aspect-ratio lock

Edit one dimension, the other auto-calculates. Or unlock to free-form when you want exact dimensions.

Social media presets

Instagram square, OG image, Full HD, HD 720p — one-click presets for every common target size.

Private by design

Files are processed in memory and deleted the moment the response leaves our server.

EXIF-aware

iPhone photos are auto-rotated before resizing so the target dimensions match what you actually see.

Truly free

No sign-up, no watermarks, no daily limits. Resize as many images as you need.

Three steps. That's it.

  1. Drop your image

Drag & drop files, or tap to browse. Up to 10 at once.

  2. Pick dimensions

Type a width, pick a percentage, or choose a preset. Aspect ratio stays locked by default.

  3. Download

Resize All → download each file. Source format is preserved at visually-lossless quality.

Frequently asked questions

What's the difference between resize, convert, and compress?

Resize changes an image's dimensions (pixels). Convert changes its format (JPG ↔ PNG ↔ WEBP). Compress shrinks file size without changing dimensions or format. Each tool on this family of sites does one job well.

What resampling algorithm do you use?

Lanczos — the industry standard for high-quality resampling. It's what Photoshop and professional imaging tools use by default because it preserves fine detail better than bilinear or bicubic filters.

Will upscaling a small image make it sharp?

No — upscaling cannot add detail that isn't there. We allow modest upscaling for size-up needs, but if you want AI-style super-resolution, dedicated ML tools do a better job. Our Lanczos upscale is mathematically correct but won't invent new pixels.

Does resizing change the file format?

No. A JPG stays a JPG, a PNG stays a PNG. If you want to change format, use ImgConvert first or after.

What's the maximum dimension?

8000 pixels on any side, 15 MB per file, 10 files per batch.

I just want smaller files, not smaller dimensions.

Use our sister site ImgCompress — it shrinks file size while keeping the original dimensions.
